On rumored November event, Apple should release its first Mac powered by Apple Silicon. But which Mac it will be? Based on rumors, it could be MacBook Air, 13-inch MacBook Pro or old good revived 12-inch Retina MacBook. Well known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo thinks it will be 13-inch MacBook Pro or MacBook Air, while The China Times claims it will be 12-inch Retina MacBook. Apple leaker Jon Prosser said, that November event is set to November 17.
Rumors say that first Apple Silicon Mac will be powered by A14X SoC, which should be also included in the upcoming iPad Pro. It should have 12 cores, 8 high-performance cores and 4 energy-efficient cores.
Please keep in mind that Jon Prosser’s predictions are not 100% accurate, but Bloomberg also said, that Apple is planning to release Apple Silicon Macs in November, on November event or via press release.
I’m really wondering how powerful will be new ARM-inspired chips in the future Macs. As owner of a Retina 5K iMac, I’m mostly interested in this model, but also I’m really interested in ultimate Mac – Mac Pro. Will Apple beat Intel easily? Chips in the iPad Pro are already really powerful in thin body and with passive cooling. Let’s see with what will Apple surprise us.
