Earlier this year, Last.fm service contracted for the dissemination of musical materials from companies Universal Music Group, Sony / BMG, Warner Music and EMI, as well as a number of independent publishers. Under the terms of agreements, Last.FM provides users the opportunity to listen to three times any song for free, after which the subscriber proposes to acquire it through a paid service, for example, iTunes or Amazon. Contracts with major record companies have enabled the network Last.fm literally within two days to increase the user audience at 85%.

However, as now reported, Warner Music, a licensed music network Last.fm extended the agreement on a monthly basis, decided to no longer renew the contract. There were no comments about this decision, representatives of Warner Music label has not yet offer. There is only that the corporation CBS, to buy network Last.fm last year for 280 million dollars, already is negotiating with Warner Music to resume cooperation.

Incidentally, it is worth adding that CBS Corporation recently announced acquisition of CNET Networks, owns publications such as CNET, ZDNet, GameSpot.com, TV.com, mp3.com, CNET News.com, UrbanBaby, CHOW, Search.com, BNET, MySimon and TechRepublic. The amount of the transaction, which is scheduled to conclude in the third quarter of this year amounted to 1.8 billion dollars.
