Microsoft discusses alternatives partnership with Yahoo

Corporation Microsoft, it seems, are no longer interested in buying Internet company Yahoo. At least, as reported by Agency France Presse, that is precisely what statement was made executive director of Yahoo Jerry Yang during a conference All Things Digital, organized by the Wall Street Journal.

Microsoft has made a proposal to purchase Yahoo about four months ago. The amount of the transaction could reach 47.5 billion dollars, but Yahoo felt that figure insufficient and refused. As a result, Microsoft withdrew a proposal to purchase, but against the Board of Directors Yahoo spreading accusations of disgruntled shareholders, considering that the leadership of Internet companies missed bargain. Later billionaire Carl Ikan, which owns about 4% of securities Yahoo, announced the intention during scheduled for July 3 meeting of shareholders to propose replacing the board of directors of the company. Since then, Yahoo has decided to postpone the meeting for several weeks.

Experts believe that in order to protect shareholders from Yahoo is considering alternative transactions which could satisfy both Ikana, and other disgruntled holders of securities. According to available information, Microsoft has made a new proposal Yahoo, implying a purchase business involving the display of advertisements in search results.

Jerry Yang, whose speech leads Agency France Presse, confirmed that Microsoft and Yahoo are discussing options for partnership, however, as it is in question did not specify. Nevertheless, Yang made it clear that Microsoft no longer wants to buy the entire company Yahoo entirely.
