CBS buys network CNET Network

CBS Corporation announced the acquisition of CNET Networks approximately 1.8 billion dollars (11.5 dollars per share).

Currently, CNET owns publications such as CNET, ZDNet, GameSpot.com, TV.com, mp3.com, CNET News.com, UrbanBaby, CHOW, Search.com, BNET, MySimon and TechRepublic. The combined audience CNET network is over 200 million people worldwide.

In turn, CBS controls the resources such as CBS.com, CBSSports.com, CBSCollegeSports.com, MaxPreps.com, CBSNews.com, last.fm, Wallstrip, MobLogic, as well as television and radio station CBS. Merging with CNET will allow CBS to become one of the largest mediakonglomeratov in the U.S. and worldwide.

Complete the planned transaction in the third quarter of this year, subject to approval by its governing bodies.
