MySpace is introducing a system of exchange profiles and user data
Social network MySpace, as reported by Agency France Presse, is introducing a new system that would make it easier for users to work with other online services.
Currently, Internet users in the registration of new online services have to hammer over and over again information about themselves, to create similar inherently profiles, and invite friends and acquaintances. As a result, related documents can be found on numerous web sites. All these files are actually duplicates of each other, but the World Wide Web does not understand this.
MySpace, the initiative Data Availability subscribers social network will provide an opportunity to port information from their profiles on the sites of other online services. The initial phase will provide compatibility with web services Yahoo, eBay, Photobucket services and Twitter. Thus, for example, users can simultaneously display photos on MySpace and Photobucket, or update the information in the MySpace accounts and Twitter, wasting no time to do repetitive action.
Notably, almost simultaneously with announcements of initiatives MySpace Data Availability with a similar project was made by competing social network Facebook. Facebook Connect platform will enable developers to create software that links Facebook network with other socially oriented services. One of the first initiative of Facebook Connect plans to support the popular online service Digg.com.
MySpace is by far the most popular social network in the world. According to statistics, Hitwise, in the past year the market share of MySpace social networks USA was 76.3%. Facebook with the rate of 12.6% ranks second. Services Bebo.com and BlackPlanet.com with shares of the 1.2% and 0.8% in the third and fourth places respectively.
